Andrew brings a wealth of experience to the company, having spent over 30 years managing global organisations in the materials and service sectors. Andrew is currently Chairman of PFW UK Holdings Ltd. Other past positions include President, Chief Operating Officer and a Director of the Titanium Metals Corporation, Director of the Special Metals Company, and Managing Director of London & Scandinavian Metallurgical Co. Ltd. Among his responsibilities at Arvia, Andrew will help guide the company as it moves towards commercialisation.
Mike brings Arvia over 20 years of international business experience having worked in a range of technology, commercial and M&A roles. Most recently Mike managed the commercial integration and development of 3 newly acquired technology companies to Mettler-Toledo, a global scientific instrumentation company. Mike focussed on globalising the small technology companies by implementing structure to their product portfolios, developing value added service offerings, and setting up marketing and sales programmes. Mike also holds a degree in Physics and an MBA from the Manchester Business School.
Nigel is the principal inventor of the Arvia process and founding Technical Director and has over 20 years' experience of process development within the global wastewater industry. Nigel previously worked as an Independent Environmental Consultant specialising in water management and wastewater treatment, including a number of international projects in China, Poland, Zimbabwe and Pakistan. Before becoming established on an independent basis, Nigel held positions as Process Engineering Manager at Simon-Hartley Ltd (specialising in the design and construction of effluent treatment plant and equipment) and as the Environmental Engineer at Foseco International Ltd with responsibilities for the water discharges from Foseco factories around the world.
Mikael Khan joined Arvia in 2013 to take the lead in Arvia's Technology and Engineering Department. Mikael holds a PhD. in Electroceramics, a MSc. with distinction in Nanotechnology, and a BSc. in Materials Science & Engineering, giving him expertise across a spectrum of technologies. He has over 15 years' experience working in industry and academia, and has held senior management and technical roles in R&D and manufacturing in the renewable energy and sustainable technology sectors. He is also the author of 21 scientific papers.
David comes to Arvia as a seasoned technologist with more than 20 years of technical and commercial experience within the field of advanced water treatment technologies. David is a Chemical Engineering graduate from the University of Birmingham. A management trainee for Severn Trent Water, David is well known for bringing to market and commercialising several advanced technologies over the years both in the UK and overseas and has held senior positions at companies including Trojan UV, Koch Membrane Systems, Norit XFlow and has numerous technology specialisms including disinfection technology and membrane filtration technology.
An accomplished Chairman & CEO with 30 years of international business experience in global companies and a natural leader with the proven ability to deliver sustainable profitable growth and maximise the potential of people. Currently supports several businesses either as a non executive director or in an advisor capacity. David joins Arvia as a non executive director bringing with him a credible background in providing chemicals to the Water industry having previously held senior positions at BWA Water Additives, Octel, Great Lakes Chemical and FMC Corporation.
Gordon worked in the City for over 30 years latterly as a senior Managing Director of Salomon/Citigroup, then was a founding partner of Pendragon Capital LLP. He is a director of Blakeney Sicav, SouthWest Energy, Vietnam Enterprise Investments Ltd and chairman of Parkwalk Advisers Ltd.
Starting out as a physicist with a strong scientific achievement record, Mark switched to commercial activities by co-founding technology companies based on his former research in optoelectronic materials for communications, data storage and displays. Mark entered venture capital in 2005 initially investing in generalist businesses before focussing on technology companies. Dr Rahn holds a BSc Physics and a PhD Optoelectronics from University of Manchester and an MBA (Distinction) from Manchester Business School.
